About By Olsen

My name is Malin Olsen, and all ceramics from By Olsen are created in my own workshop. Here, I hand-build and throw, decorate, glaze, and fire each piece myself.

By Olsen largely consists of decorative figures and home decor – items with personality that are meant to stand out a bit. Sometimes simple and neutral, sometimes colorful, patterned, and full of details.

The handmade nature means that no two items are exactly alike. Small variations in form, color, and expression are a natural part of the craftsmanship and give each piece its own character.

By Olsen is operated through Gullviks Havsbad in Höga Kusten, where my ceramics are also available for purchase in Hantverksboden (the Craft Shop) during the summer, alongside other crafts.

For the rest of the year, work continues in the workshop, where new figures, forms, and ideas are developed. In the webshop, you'll find what's finished and ready to move into someone else's home.
