Shaped by hand


Each piece is shaped by hand in my studio. I both throw and hand-build, depending on the form and feel I want to create.

Decorated and glazed


Each item is decorated by hand using different techniques, colors, and glazes. Some decorations are painted directly onto the clay before the first firing, while glazes are applied after the bisque firing.

Burns in multiple stages


The ceramics are first bisque-fired at about 900 °C and then fired again after glazing, when the temperature reaches around 1,240 °C. The different firings make the clay strong and give the glaze its finished color and surface.
